Futurity History
NZRHA Futurity (7 entries) & Open (9 entries) 2006
Many thanks to the Tauranga Western Riding Club who allowed us to hold
our events in conjunction with their Autumn Show on the first weekend
of March 2006. We had dry conditions and an excellent arena to compete
on. The competition was a very high standard, its great to see the improvement
each year in the standard of Reining in NZ. Thanks also to Sarah Rolston,
Jan Waldock and Peter Watt who do an excellent job of running the association
and the Futurity Show. Judge Fiona Renall.
Congratulations to James Hazeldine and his Lethal Lena mare 'Ima Dream
Too' who made a clean sweep in winning the Futurity and the Open events.
This little 4 yr old mare has a lot of heart and always does her best
- she was beaten only once in Junior Reining this season - and it is a
credit to her and to James as she was only started under saddle in May
2005 (James had been busy up till then completing his farrier apprenticeship
with unfortunately no time to train and show horses - its great to have
him back on the show circuit)!
